Grade 7 played in an Indonesian gamelan-inspired* ensemble. They played a variety of percussion instruments from around the world, including:
-doumbek (Turkey)
-maraca (Mexico)
-gong (Indonesia)
-frog rasp (Vietnam)
-rain stick (Peru)
*Gamelan (/ˈɡæməlæn/) is the traditional ensemble music of Java and Bali in Indonesia, made up predominantly of percussive instruments. The most common instruments used are metallophones played by mallets and a set of hand-played drums which register the beat.
