Welcome Back

This week, students in PreK and Kindergarten sang "echo" songs, helped contribute to a song called "Everybody Loves Something," and learned how to keep the beat. Students in 5th and 8th grades did a great job singing our school song and thinking about what it must have been like almost 200 years ago when Beethoven first wrote the music to which we sing our school song. Students discussed how, without any recording technology available, people only had two choices if they wanted to listen to music: they could listen to other people performing live, or they could play it themselves. We'll be doing some of each this year in our music classes!

Bells Are Ringing

Students in Pre-K 3 & 4 played bells on a pentatonic (five note) scale. All of the notes blend together beautifully in a pentatonic scale, and the children were able to create some wonderful music!
